CAMERECHIARE RIMINI
Summer Photo Workshop 9/13 agosto 2017

THE WORKSHOP
Join four of Italy’s most creative and eccentric photographers for an exclusive 5-day workshop on the Adriatic Riviera. You’ll experience in Rimini at the height of the tourist season when the city and its beaches are heaving with tourists and the nightlife is at full throttle. And while we intend to take full advantage of the summer atmosphere, shooting at the iconic free beach and local underground bars, we’ll also venture into the peaceful countryside around Rimini and work in the studio at CAMERECHIARE.

FOCUS
The photographers leading this event each bring a wealth of experience and their own unique perspective; that thing that makes their work instantly recognisable. Throughout the event, you’ll be surrounded by a team of professional, highly talented photographers who will encourage you to push your limits and help you discover your own unique perspective. Then, under the guidance of our self-publishing experts, you’ll choose some of your best work, which we’ll use to create and publish a book recording our experience together.

WORKSHOP OUTLINE
Our aim is to deliver an immersive experience, shooting together, editing together, eating together, and having fun together. This outline will give you a breakdown of what you can expect during the workshop, but session may change to accommodate the goals of the group.

– ENRICO CHICO DE LUIGI
chicodeluigi.it

We get started on Wednesday afternoon at CAMERECHIARE with Enrico ‘Chico’ De Luigi. Chico was born in Rimini during the sixties when it became a trendy holiday destination for Italy’s elite. He found his passion for photography at an early age and spent his childhood photographing everything in Rimini. At twenty-five, he began working as a celebrity portrait photographer with an Italian magazine before joining Fandango as a movie still photographer. There he worked with acclaimed film directors on sets of over 25 films around the world. In all, his career has spanned still photography, photojournalism, portrait photography, and now his unique NOPANIC Workshops — designed to help photographers of all levels push their boundaries. In 2010 he created BLOB, a daily photo diary that contains more than 30.000 pictures. CAMERECHIARE is Chico’s home and studio, a place that reflects his passion for photography and where artists come to collaborate and inspire.

– SETTIMIO BENEDUSI
settimiobenedusi.com

Settimo Benedusi was born in Imperia and moved to Milan in his late teens. He spent his youth fucking around and taking advantage of the economic boom of the sixties as a jack of all trades, but master of none. While unwillingly studying law, he began exploring photography. It was the mythical eighties, a time when any moron could find a role in the photographic world. Benedusi started out as an assistant, then in 1990 began establishing his own brand. A series of fortunate events put him in the right place at the right time and he got his hands on a journalist press card, acquiring unreasonable privileges. He toured the world, convinced was doing something dangerous and innovative, meanwhile, he was, in fact, being dragged around like a Milanese yuppie, which he really is. In 2003 he started a blog, using words like sincerity and truth and sharing, made him popular and success continued to land in his lap. To date, he’s lectured at the European Institute of Design, the Toscana Photographic Workshop and we’ve finally invited him to host a session at The CAMERECHIARE Summer Photography Workshop.

In the 90s he started to export his work and his name overseas, shooting, among others, for magazines such as Brutus, Wallpaper, Du, Details and Mademoiselle. In 1995 he received the Art Director Club award for creativity in portrait photography. Diesel, Fred Perry, Lierac, Heineken, Ducati, Volkswagen, Pirelli and Martini are only a few brands out of his consolidated advertising client list. In 2011 he opened talkinass paper and records, producing magazine and recording artists from the international underground scene, working with the likes of Paolo Sorrentino, Daniele Ciprì, Asia Argento.
